St. John's Boating License Courses Available

St. John’s is the capital and largest city of Newfoundland and Labrador, a Canadian province. The area has a vibrant boating tradition, and a rich history as the oldest North American city founded by the English. The fishing industry dominated St. John’s for much of the 20th century, and although that has almost entirely given way to import and export, the area very much still feels its presence. Boating is a way of life in St. John’s, and people come from all over the world to experience it. Boat enthusiasts love to explore the island coastline as well as the Avalon Peninsula.

Not everyone who visits St. John’s has a boat license, and there are many activities to take part in, such as guided boat trips, fishing excursions, ferries, sailboats and so forth. Nevertheless, St. John’s is best experienced at the helm so that you can go where you want at your own pace. There are a number of marinas, so you can bring your own boat or you can rent from one of the charters. In order to do so, however, you will need a boat license. If it is not convenient to get one before your trip, you can schedule it, take the test and get the temporary license when you arrive. They will send the permanent card to your residence several weeks later.
